India is a country where the majority of the people are Hindus. Worshiping idols of the lord has been going on for centuries. From the tourism point of view, such monuments present a better image of the place and attract a large number of tourist which helps in employment and betterment of the society.

Statue of Unity: Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel

A massive statue known as "Statue of Unity" which would be of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel is coming up in Gujarat. The BJP governments, both in Gujarat and the Centre, are gearing up for the unveiling of Statue of Unity of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on October 31 . The 182-meters-tall Statue of Unity , a tribute to the Iron Man of India, saw contributions from every village in its making. It is the tallest statue in the world installed near to the giant Narmada Dam also known as sardar sarovar Dam in Gujarat.

Veera Abhaya Anjaneya Hanuman Swami

Another tallest statue of India is located in the Paritala town Near Vijayawada in Andhra Pradesh. It is the Veera Abhaya Anjaneya Hanuman Swami which is a Lord Hanuman statue and is the World’s tallest Hanuman statue with a height of 41 m (135 ft). It was installed in 2003. India is home to many large and tall Hanuman statues. Some of them are Hanuman Murti in Shimla whuch is 108ft tall and According to legends, this is the place where Hanuman stopped and asked Dronacharya about the magical herb Sanjeevani to save Laxman and Hanumat Dham at Shahjahanpur , Uttar Pradesh  which is 105ft tall. Hanuman statue in Nadura , Maharashtra is also 105ft high . World's Second tallest Hanuman located at NALCO township, Damanjodi, Odisha which is 108t and 9 inches tall.

Thiruvalluvar’s Statue

Thiruvalluvar’s Statue in Tamil Nadu stands 41m high and is said to have built by Sculptor Dr. V Ganapati Sthapati, the inauguration of which was on 2000. The statue is of a great Tamil poet Thiruvalluvar who wrote The Tamil Sangam classic known as Tirukkural. In feet, it is 133ft, with each foot dedicated to the 133 chapters in Tirukkural.

The Buddha Park

The Buddha Park of Ravangla , also known as  Tathagata Tsal , is situated near Rabong in South Sikkim district, Sikkim. It was constructed between 2006 and 2013 and features a 130-foot (40 m) high statue of the Buddha as its centerpiece. Presently it is the tallest Buddha statue in India. Another greatest Buddha statue is located at Amaravathi village in Guntur district of Andhra Pradesh which is 125ft i.e. 38.1 m high. It is known as the Dhyana Buddha statue . Besides the statue, it houses a museum that has various other sculptures signifying Buddhism. Mindroling Monastery Buddha statue in Dehradun , Uttarakhand is 32.6m high .  This Monastery is one of the six major monasteries of the Nyingma school in Tibet. Another beautiful Buddha statue is in Diksit Monastery which is 32m which is a statue of Jampa Buddha. And was complted in 2010.

Statue of Padmasambhava

Statue of Padmasambhava in Himachal Pradesh Known as the statue of second Buddha, Guru Rinpoche who preached and spread Buddhism in Tibet and Bhutan. It is the second largest statue in Himachal Pradesh and is 123ft tall and 4000ft above sea level. There are also some Buddhist monasteries and Hindu temples near this statue. Another statue of Guru Rinpoche located in Namchi in Sikkim also founds a mention in the list which is 118m tall.

Shiva of Murudeshwar

Also among the tallest statues is Shiva of Murudeshwar . This is also the largest Shiva statue in India and the second largest in the world and is 122 m high. Adiyogi Shiva statue is the tallest one in Tamil Nadu. Inaugurated in 2017, this shows Lord Shiva as the first yogi. Shiva is known as the creator of Yoga. According to yoga, there are 112 ways to gain moksha hence the height of this is kept at 112 feet. Other largest statue are of Mangal Mahadev, Hari ki Pauri, Statue of Ahimsha, Lord Basava etc.
